Come out of your shell!
Carapace is a monthly event of true personal stories at Manuel's Tavern in Atlanta, every second Tuesday of the month (except December). While the show begins at 7p, we encourage people to get there early to meet their neighbors and enjoy a meal before the mic goes live.
Every second Tuesday of the month, ordinary raconteurs tell true, personal, five-minute (or so) stories on a pre-selected theme. Topics have included, for example, "Scars," and "Feuds & Rivalries."
Our hilarious host, Cris Gray, guides us through.
Names are drawn from a hat. No one is required to tell a story; attendees can just listen. It's free.
Tuesday, October 14, 7p Manuel’s Tavern
X marks the spot. Dot, dot, dot. Do you ever get that creepy feeling of spiders crawling up your spine?
At some point in our lives, most folks have had an encounter that felt like something between coincidence, synchronicity, perhaps even otherworldly.
So, when was a time you couldn’t quite explain all the whys and wherefores? Perhaps you or someone you knew had an uncanny knowing, a prescient dream. Looking back, was there a predestined aura to how it all worked out? Did you cast a true love spell?
Alternatively, did you wish upon a star, only to find no fairy godmother arrived in time to get you out of the pickle you were in? Did you confirm there’s nothing really out there?
Whatever your story, practically speaking, we’ll be waiting at Manuel’s Tavern on Tuesday, October 14 at 7p, where--just like magic--you can always find us on the second Tuesdays of the month.
Our host committee invites you to come out for this unique, curated evening to celebrate the long-lasting legacy of Carapace. The show will feature stories from:
3 local celebrities
3 Carapace favorites
3 spontaneous storytellers pulled from the hat (because that’s how we usually roll anyway!)
Co-MCed by Cris Gray and Shannon M. Turner, this will be a night you will not forget.
Help support the work of Carapace by kicking us a few coins!
There’s never any pressure to tell a story, but you’ll never experience a more welcoming environment to try out the mic.
